This is the first of a twin set that i have made. I have never used spalted birch before these two, and I have to say, I love how it looks! The blade itself is a sanmai construction with an 80CrV2 core. I have brushed the forge scale away so it gives a shiny clean brute du forge finish.

Steel: 80CrV2 core with 15n20 cladding (San Mai)
HRC: 59–60
Handle: Spalted birch
Ferrule: Brass
Finish: Dark etched San Mai
Hand wash and dry immediately to prevent moisture damage. Regular sharpening and oiling of the handle are recommended to maintain optimal performance.
