Nitro-B Petty Knife with Zebrano and Padouk Handle

A small petty knife in Nitro-B, forged by hand in Groningen. Nitro-B is a stainless steel with nitrogen added, made by the German steelmaker Buderus. The steel is very fine-grained and resists rust, so you can leave out the patina care that carbon steel needs. The handle is zebrano, a striped wood, with a padouk ferrule between blade and handle, in a deep red that I like against the stripes. This is a good choice if you do not want to fuss over your knives.

Care

Wash by hand and dry the knife after use, with the cotton cloth it came in or a dishcloth. Hone the edge with a honing steel just before or right after use.
