A walnut cracker forged by hand in Groningen from a single piece of steel. I heat the steel and twist it, so the cracker fits in your hand. The finish is blackened, a dark layer on the steel. I make these between knife orders, when I have spare forge time. Ships in 2-3 business days.
How to use
- Line up the flat side of the tip with the back of the walnut, the end where it grew on the tree.
- Hold the cracker against your belly for control and push the tip about 3 mm into the walnut.
- Twist gently. The walnut should split in half and the nut comes out easily.
Care
Wipe clean with a cloth. Walnut oil or mineral oil on the steel keeps rust away.
